South Africa

Diverse. Magical. Unexpected.

South Africa is a land of contrasts, where diversity reigns supreme. From the arid deserts of the Kalahari to lush forests and a dazzling coastline that stretches across both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, the country’s landscapes are as varied as they are breathtaking.

This rich geographical tapestry is mirrored by a multicultural population of over 50 million people, making South Africa a vibrant melting pot of traditions, languages, and cultures. Renowned for its Big Five safari experiences, South Africa’s commitment to conservation is evident in its world-class national parks and reserves. Beyond the wild, the country offers award-winning restaurants, a thriving viticultural industry, and two of the continent’s most exciting cities, Cape Town and Johannesburg. Here, urban glamour meets natural beauty, creating a destination that truly defies categorization. South Africa is a place where every journey offers something new, and every visit promises an unforgettable adventure.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, South Africa

South Africa’s Eastern Cape is a stunningly diverse mix of mountains, beaches and game reserves, filled to the brim with wildlife. In the heart of it is Kwandwe, 22,000 hectares of biodiverse wilderness with a strong, conservation-focused background. On game drives and walking safaris you’ll spot cheetah, elephant, buffalo and plenty of rhino, and with only 26 guest rooms in the reserve, you’ll have them all to yourself.

Timbavati Private Nature Reserve
A reserve of endless space and privacy that makes up part of several million hectares of African wilderness known as the Greater Kruger National Park.

Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, South Africa

The Kruger National Park has made a name for itself as one of the most famous national parks on the continent. In the Timbavati, a privately-owned reserve on the eastern border, you’ll benefit from the exceptional wildlife densities (perhaps better…) and incredible sightings of the park itself but with the added benefits of privacy, intimate encounters, the option to explore on foot, and some of the best guides in the business by your side.

The Cape Winelands
One of the most picturesque areas of South Africa, attracting wine-lovers, foodies, art enthusiasts and history lovers from all over the world.

The Cape Winelands, South Africa

A visit to the Western Cape isn’t complete without a stop in the chocolate-boz region of the Cape Winelands. The country’s wine industry is the ninth largest in the world and the vineyards are elegant, exciting and always ready to welcome visitors. The gastronomy scene is spectacular too, and there are many art galleries, shops and boutiques to explore in both Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. If you’re visiting with family, there are plenty of outdoorsy activities to keep everyone entertained.

Hermanus & surrounds
Only 50 kilometres from Cape Town, the seaside town of Hermanus and its surrounding lagoons, mountains, and beaches, invites relaxation and connection with nature.

Renowned for land-based whale watching (July to October is the best time to visit), nature-filled vistas and plenty of fresh, sea air and bracing walks, Hermanus and the surrounding area is a tonic for the soul. From the active – quad biking, sailing, kayaking and SUPing – to the sedate – wine tasting, ambling along the beach, sampling gourmet restaurants – there really is something for all tastes and styles, and it’s the perfect beginning or end to a well-rounded South Africa holiday.

A VAST Experience

As a visitor to South Africa, your days will be as varied as the scenery. In the Cape, it’s all about gourmet wine and food experiences against a backdrop of charming Cape Dutch buildings, before spending a few days on safari in your chosen wild expanse. And in between, how about whale-watching off the coast of Hermanus, following the road less travelled up the aptly-named Wild Coast, or spending a few days off-grid in middle of the Kalahari?

What you might know....

South Africa’s accommodation options reign supreme on the continent. From laidback, beachside boltholes to safari lodges from the pages of a design magazine – and some that even act as a destination in themselves – prepare to be wowed.

What you might not know....

The publicly accessible national parks are undoubtedly brilliant (see Kruger, one of the most prolific parks on the continent), but the country's private game reserves offer an exclusive experience like no other with an equal focus on luxury and conservation.
